Bobby arrived at Catskill at the young age of 47 years. He was rescued by elder humans who were then able to bring him to the sanctuary. Bobby had endured neglect prior to his rescue, and it was thought that he was arriving at the sanctuary for palliative care; however, with specialized hoof care and nutritional support, Bobby lived almost three more years at Catskill and became a beloved and iconic member of the family who delighted visitors as he roamed the property.
